November 20, 2025 – Independence HoA Board Meeting Cancelled

Dear good people of Independence HOA in southwest Las Vegas, your monthly scheduled board meeting has been cancelled tonight by CAMCO Nevada, your association management company, and Melinda Ann Costa, its president. They canceled for several reasons, which we will summarize here quickly. First, president Melinda Ann Costa recently had a police report filed against her because she trespassed and vandalized a religious icon on the property of a homeowner with whom she disagrees. The second reason is because the management company, CAMCO Nevada, now has to review its options and hopefully distance herself from Melinda. This is not the first time she has executed aggressive, illegal, and abusive behaviors against constituents of the community. Third, most unfortunately to you homeowners, cancelling the meeting enables her to continue the activity of legal weekly fines against you. The meeting is cancelled, even though you were prepared, but you still accrue fines according to her illegal methods. That is the reason why the meeting was cancelled. You have options, though. You can always contact the local Ombudsman's office and file a complaint against Melinda Ann Costa and CAMCO Nevada management services. These false-leaders must be held accountable. November 12, 2025 – Independence HoA Board President Melinda Ann Costa Reported to Las Vegas Metro Police Department for Trespassing/Vandalism of Homeowner's Property (Religious Icon)

INCIDENT SUMMARY FROM HOMEOWNER: Starting around 10:30 AM and proceeding for an hour, a taller, skinny, older, sickly-looking, white woman trespassed onto my property and vandalized a marble bust of a religious figure, using a sharpie pen. The religious icon was defaced with perversion of the breasts, and the mouth. As a permanent marker was used, it is difficult to remove. Additionally, the marble bust weighs over 200 pounds, so it is not easy to move.I have strong suspicions the culprit is Melinda Ann Costa, the President of the Independence HOA in the same neighborhood. Her address is 7457 Ringquist Street, 89148, according to Clark County property records. I believe she did this because she has been trying to cause me to move out of the neighborhood for years, and has been harassing me via her station of authority with the HOA. In our last recorded HOA forum, she is recorded raising her voice at me, pointing at me, and making intimidating statements and gestures. She indicated that her wishes were non-negotiable, and that I would be penalized in one of many forms if I didn’t do what she wants.I also carefully reviewed the footage from my several cameras. I have screenshots from several angles of this person driving around in her car backand- forth, which is a green Subaru outback. I then have visual evidence that matches the description I provided.I’m reporting this because it seems particularly hateful that this person would choose to deface a religious statue that my wife, neighbors, and family look at on a daily basis. This is supposed to be the community she is serving, and she ran to my house with a sharpie pen after some person posted mean things about her online.My wife and I are fearful that this person will keep coming back and destroying more of our property, particularly property that we find sacred as part of our religious beliefs.
